About me and this website…

My name is Steve and I’ve been researching the Singleton Estate in my free time for the last 10+ years. I grew tired of the constant rummaging for notes and scraps of paper I’d written things on while researching and thought a website would be a good way to collect my thoughts, notes and other bits of information. A single place I could add to and build on, so the information I found could be read by others and used by them to better understand the wonderful Singleton Estate.

I started my first go at a Swansea History website back in the late 90s and never got far with it, but have been reading and researching local history since then… forever making folders of notes.

It was a few years after my research on Singleton started that I was introduced to 3d design and opened to the possibility of 3d reconstruction of historical sites. A way that I could remake, in some fashion at least, buildings of the past and explore them in a way that isn’t possible without physically building the place again.

I’ve not really had a chance to look back since.

I hope that this project continues as long as I can find new and interesting information to add to it. There are quite a few aspects of 3D that I want to explore… so hopefully it will be expanded on for a while yet.
